Alexandria Neighborhood Health Services -- 1-2 childcare providers to supervise a group of children while mothers participate in a 12-week psycho-educational group. Carpenter's Shelter – Lead seminars, assist with job and special skills mentoring, and lawn maintenance.  Contact:  Jasmin Witcher 703-548-7500

Community Lodgings- Care for children, ages 0-11, while their parents take Adult Education classes through the Family Learning Center in the evenings. Volunteers can prepare activities, watch movies, etc. Contact: Emily Barnes, 703-739-5856

ESL & Immigrant Ministries-ESL Teacher; teach English in small classroom settings to adult immigrants. Commitment is one 2-hour class a wk for 10-12 wks. Prior experience not required. 2nd language skill is not necessary. Training provided. Contact: Barbara Bernett, 703-841-0292 eslim02@gmail.com

Gadsby’s Tavern Museum - is actively seeking teen and adult volunteers to assist with tours, special events, and/or family programs. Volunteers serving as docents commit to 6 hours per month. Stop Child Abuse Now of Northern Virginia -- The Alexandria/Arlington Special Advocate (CASA) program is looking for volunteers to serve as advocates for children in the Arlington and Alexandria Juvenile Court system. The Child & Family Network Centers- Administrative Assistants perform administrative work; assist Development Manager with an event, front desk, helping Preschool Director in the office. 28th Annual Old Town Arts & Crafts Festival & Volunteer Fair- 10 volunteers needed Mother’s Day weekend. Saturday May 10 volunteers are needed to set up the fair and break down the fair the evening of Sunday May 11. Only 2-3 volunteers needed to help with various tasks throughout the day such as giving the vendors breaks at appointed times, switching signs out, helping sell water bottles, and more.
